Winzer Würth was established in 1985, under the name of Winzer Industrial (UK) Ltd, with one employee selling/retailing assembly and industrial consumables to the trade. Months later, 7sales consultants were recruited. In April 1986 the company was acquired by Reinhold Würth and joined the worldwide Würth Group, becoming Winzer Würth Industrial Ltd.
The company was totally focused on selling to the craft trades and continued to grow by amazing proportions, from a small office and warehouse, to taking over 4 large units in Manfield Park at Cranleigh.
After the purchase of the 4th unit it became evident that we needed a larger site to accommodate our future growth. A 5.5 acre site was purchased in nearby Godalming and a purpose built warehouse and office was designed and built. In August 1995 the keys to the new premises were officially handed over and racking systems were ready to be filled. By the beginning of November the office staff moved into their new premises, and Würth House was officially opened in time to celebrate our 10th Anniversary.
At that time, the company joined Regional Managing Director Michael Coffey's sub division, which today includes the Würth companies in Ireland, Iceland, South Africa, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom.
Throughout this period our product range has grown to around 7500 items, including chemicals, tools, furniture fittings and other diversified products used by our target market groups. Winzer Würth looks forward to many years of successful growth.
